In honor of Adopt-a-Shelter-Cat Month, please come by Mewtopia Cat Rescue at 734 Mt. Moriah to find your next companion.  We have a vast array of kitties for you to choose from…..kittens, juveniles, adults and seniors.  Our adoption fees start at $125 and include spaying/neutering, testing for Feline AIDS/Leukemia, flea and ear mite treatments, worming, and the first round of shots.

According to the latest data from the American Pet Products Association, 63 percent of American households have pets. Sadly, only 10 percent of owned dogs and 18 percent of owned cats were adopted from animal shelters.   But it's not just low adoption rates driving the high number of animals in shelters. Every year, millions of dogs and cats are relinquished by their owners—or rescued from the streets by animal control officers and private citizens—and brought to animal shelters. These circumstances leave shelters and rescue groups with a large number of animals in need of homes. Often, more arrive each day.*

Please consider a shelter cat when deciding to add a pet to your home.  The Humane Society of the United States estimates that animal shelters care for 6-8 million dogs and cats every year in the U.S.  Approximately half of these animals are euthanized.*  Even though Mewtopia is a no-kill shelter, your patronage allows us to continue to accept and house cats and kittens until they can be placed in their forever homes.
